COMMENTS FROM PEER-REVIEWERS
The following comments are from four colleagues who have seen and/or followed the entirety of this particular research.
THOMAS M. VUKE is Vice President of Imaging at MIS, a software development firm specializing in imaging applications for forensic, biomedical, government, and industrial markets, where his responsibilities include integrating hardware and software solutions for specific scientific applications. Prior to his role at MIS, he was involved in problem-solving related to a variety of scientific settings, from equipment integration to laboratory research. Vuke is a long-standing board member of the Council for the Study of the Shroud of Turin (CSST) in Durham, NC.
In January, and again in June 2011, Tom reviewed Dayvault’s research article and made the following comments: “The story Dayvault tells is significant in its scope and is compelling in its presentation. The case is clearly made for the literal “stuff of legends”, lost for centuries, to have been found and meticulously documented. Having known Phil Dayvault for over 15 years and having had the privilege of reviewing his findings, I can attest to his earnest attention to detail coupled with sound methodology and integrity of purpose. Findings regarding the historical identity of the ISA Tile and its original locations are corroborated from many angles, and the role that the artifact has played in influencing numerous ancient pieces of Christological artwork is supported by his comparative imaging studies. The findings summarized in this article, and further expounded in Dayvault’s upcoming book, have major implications in archeology, art history and Shroud studies. Recommended reading for a variety of audiences!”

THOMAS F. D'MUHALA is President of ERI, Evidentiary Research Institute, of Raleigh, NC. He is also the former President of STURP, the Shroud of Turin Research Project, which was permitted in 1978 to conduct the most definitive hands-on examination directly on the Shroud. He is a nuclear physicist and is a Technical Advisor on the DATUM ENTERPRISE Board of Advisors. Tom has followed the Shroud since 1973 and has known Dayvault since 1995. His following comments regarding the "FACE of the GOD-Man" article were made in April 2011.
"I've been privileged to view Phil's evidence and follow his research from the time he returned from Sanliurfa, in June 2002. In my opinion, his evidence is solid, his research thorough and scientific, and his conclusions are accurate, realistic and well supported."

ROBIN M. JENSEN is a renowned Professor of Art History, currently at the University of Notre Dame. I visited her while she was a Professor at Vanderbilt Divinity School in January 2007 for her objective review and comments on the ISA Tile. Below are listed several excerpts made by Professor Jensen:
DR. KENNETH STEVENSON served as the Original Editor and Spokesman for STURP (Shroud of Turin Research Project) and participated in the examination of the Shroud in 1978.
Author: Verdict on the Shroud, The Shroud and the Controversy, Image of the Risen Christ and NAZAH: White Linen and the Blood of Sprinkling

"The Keramion, Lost and Found by Philip E. Dayvault is a true “tour de force” for the field of Sindonology. Philip has not only found, but positively identified, the “missing link” of Shroud Iconography. In The Keramion, Philip combines the easy readability of a master story teller with the forensic skills and investigative attention to detail clearly honed by his years as a (former) FBI Special Agent.
Since Ian Wilson first put forth the possible connection between the Shroud of Turin and the Image of Edessa (Mandylion) in “The Turin Shroud”, many have attempted to bridge the gap between the legend of King Abgar V, circa 30 AD, and the “rediscovery” of the ”miraculous image” in 525 AD. Until The Keramion, there has been no First Century hard evidence to make the case that the Shroud and the Mandylion were indeed one and the same. Philip’s most excellent treatise does that and much more. The Keramion is the true story of a modern-day “Indiana Jones” who not only finds the “hidden treasure” he is seeking but, with it, truly finds the Face of God.
Shroud researchers and enthusiasts will most assuredly herald this book as a vital addition to the case for authenticity. Furthermore I challenge doubters and unbelievers to read The Keramion, Lost And Found. Perhaps they will likewise find themselves on "a Journey to the Face of God.”
A true Shroud Classic that I will cherish and share whenever I can!"

- “If this were to be securely dated to the early second century (or even earlier), it would be without doubt the earliest known portrait image of Christ in existence....”
- “The legend of the Mandylion should be extremely relevant to the story of this image, especially considering its provenance (Edessa) and date (late Roman or early Byzantine).”
- “In any case, I believe that you have a very significant discovery here.”
